Compare the Fish-N-Mate 310 if you want the documented 143 base frame and a cutting board and bait bucket in the box. Choose the Sea Striker BRSC-WB if you want smaller listed cart dimensions and seven rod holders, once you have confirmed your cooler fits and which tire size the seller ships. Both are matches based on published specs. We have not pulled either cart across a beach.

Before you compare carts, list what you will actually carry. Our surf fishing setup checklist covers the rods, bait and tackle; the cart only has to move what is on that list.

A surf fishing cart is a metal frame with a cargo basket, rod holders and large wheels that you pull across the sand. We checked both Amazon US listings live on Oct. 29, 2026 and read cached manufacturer pages. Where two sources disagree, we say so next to the number.

Surf fishing carts at a glance

The two carts are described in different ways, so their sizes are not a straight match. Fish-N-Mate publishes the inside of a base frame. Sea Striker’s listing labels its figures as cart dimensions without confirming usable inside clearance.

Quick choices, based on the published specs:

  • Want the bigger documented frame plus a supplied cutting board and bait bucket: the Fish-N-Mate 310.
  • Want smaller listed dimensions, and seven holders cover the rods you carry: the Sea Striker BRSC-WB.

Neither choice says which cart pulls easier or lasts longer. We have no data on either.

Fish-N-Mate 310 vs Sea Striker BRSC-WB

Both are beach carts with rod holders and wide wheels. Read the exact model line on each card, and confirm availability on the Amazon listing, because offers change.

Fish-N-Mate 310: a larger base frame, measured as the 143. Fish-N-Mate’s page for SKU 310 says it is the standard 143 frame fitted with Poly Wheels on a 34-inch axle. The maker’s 143 page lists the inside of that frame as 41¾ inches long, 17¼ inches wide and 9 inches deep, with eight rod holders. We present those as base-frame numbers. Confirm with the seller that the 310 on offer is that revision. The 34-inch axle length is not the cart’s overall width. Amazon’s listing adds a detachable handle, cutting board, bait bucket, stabilizer legs and rod-tube covers.

Sea Striker BRSC-WB: smaller listed dimensions and seven holders. Amazon’s item details confirm the model and part number BRSC-WB. Its bullets list galvanized, powder-coated steel, a 125 lb capacity, seven molded rod holders and a 34 × 14.5 × 7 in cart. Seven holders is a feature to compare with the number of rods you carry. It is not a shortfall against eight if you bring fewer. The listing says the cart takes most 55-quart coolers and asks you to check dimensions, which is good advice for any cart.

Balloon tires, Poly Wheels and firm paths

The wheels are the part that meets the sand, so check them first. Our sources name the wheels on both carts, but they do not settle every detail.

Match the wheels to the route

Write down every surface between your car and the water: parking lot, boardwalk, dry soft sand, wet packed sand. Calcutta Outdoors’ surf fishing gear guide names a balloon-tire cart as the choice for soft sand. That is a maker’s guidance, not our measurement. We have no pulling-effort data for either cart on soft sand or on firm paths.

Check the supplied wheel variant

Fish-N-Mate 310. The manufacturer’s 310 page lists Poly Wheels on a 34-inch axle and notes that a standard 143 axle does not fit these wheels. That matters if you ever order replacement parts. The page gives inflation instructions for these Poly Wheels, so they are not solid plastic tires. Check the supplied tire markings and instructions before inflating; do not transfer instructions between wheel variants.

Sea Striker BRSC-WB. Amazon’s bullets list 13-inch wheels, but the same listing’s item type says 11-inch balloon tires. An older Calcutta Outdoors product page also says 13 inches, but that copy is about 1.7 years old. If wheel size matters to you, ask the seller which size ships. For tire pressure, follow only the instructions supplied with your cart.

Will your cooler, rods and rake fit?

A cart only helps if your gear sits in it safely. Measure your own gear before you rely on any listing.

Cooler exterior width and basket clearance marked as separate measurements
Generic measuring guide: the cooler’s outside and the basket’s inside are two different numbers. No model fit is guaranteed. View full-size diagram

Measure the cooler outside, not its quart capacity

Quarts describe what a cooler holds, not its outside shape. Two 55-quart coolers can have different lengths, widths and handles. Measure your cooler at its longest and widest points, including handles and hinges. Then compare those numbers with the clear inside of the basket. For the Fish-N-Mate 310, the published inside figures belong to the 143 base frame. For the Sea Striker, 34 × 14.5 × 7 in describes the cart, and we could not confirm the usable inside space.

Count the holders you will actually use

Count the rods you carry on a normal trip, then compare that with the holders. The manufacturer’s 143-frame instructions place the cutting board and bait tray in a rod holder. Allow for that position when counting usable rod spaces, and check the assembly supplied with your 310. If you are still choosing rods, our guide to surf rod lengths and models helps with that decision. It does not say whether those rods fit either cart.

A sand flea rake is another long item to pack. Our page on rake handle and transport options covers handle lengths. We do not know whether any rake handle fits a rod tube on these carts, so plan to carry it separately unless you have checked.

Check cart load limits separately from tire ratings

The Sea Striker listing gives a 125 lb capacity. Fish-N-Mate’s 310 page shows a 200 lb figure, but it sits under the wheel specifications. A wheel rating is not a load rating for the whole cart, and we found no complete-cart rating for the 310. If load matters, ask Fish-N-Mate or the seller directly.

Transport, storage and when to skip a cart

The cart also has to fit in your vehicle and your garage. Neither source gives a packed size, so measure before you buy.

Vehicle opening, cart width and removable handle marked for measurement

Check your trunk opening and packed dimensions

Measure your trunk or hatch opening, not only the space inside. A cart has to pass through the opening first. The 34-inch axle on the Fish-N-Mate is not its overall width. Ask for the assembled width across the wheels and the longest loose part after removing the handle; neither is established by the axle measurement.

A removable handle is not a folding frame

Amazon lists a detachable handle for the Fish-N-Mate 310. That makes the handle come off. It does not mean the frame folds or that the cart fits a small car. For the Sea Striker, the listing’s assembly details do not show that it folds or breaks down quickly. Ask the seller if you need to take the cart apart often.

Small kit or difficult access: consider carrying less

If you fish with one rod, a small tackle bag and a bucket, you may not need a cart. Carrying less can be simpler on stairs or narrow dune paths. Use the builder to plan your surf fishing setup and compare tackle choices. It plans tackle, not cart fit. A general beach wagon is another route, but we have not compared any wagons here.

Consider a smaller cart: Fish-N-Mate 303 Junior

Fish-N-Mate makes a smaller cart, the 303 Jr with Poly Wheels. The maker’s page shows it without a front wheel. The Amazon listing we checked showed five rod positions and an inside frame of 9 × 14.5 × 34 in. On Oct. 29, 2026, that listing said “currently unavailable” for a Miami, FL ZIP code. That does not mean it is discontinued or unavailable everywhere. Because we could not confirm a current offer, we do not include it as a pick or link to buy it.

Questions before buying a surf fishing cart

Use these checks to settle the details that can change your buying decision.

Final checks for cart model, cooler clearance, wheel variant and storage
Our buyer checklist: confirm the model, cooler clearance, wheel variant and storage space. View full-size diagram

Does a 55-quart cooler fit every surf cart?

No. Quarts measure volume, not outside shape. Measure your cooler’s longest and widest points and compare them with the basket’s clear inside dimensions. The Sea Striker listing says “most” 55-quart coolers and asks you to check dimensions.

Are Fish-N-Mate Poly Wheels solid plastic?

No: Fish-N-Mate’s 310 page gives inflation instructions for its Poly Wheels. Ask the seller, “Does this 310 include the Poly Wheel package described by Fish-N-Mate, and what instructions come with it?” Follow the supplied tire instructions rather than assuming every beach-cart tire uses the same pressure.

Can the cart’s rod holders replace sand spikes?

Treat the holders as carrying features. Our sources do not say the cart holds a rod steady while a fish pulls. Follow the maker’s instructions, and bring sand spikes if you plan to fish with rods standing.

Why do Sea Striker listings mention both 11- and 13-inch tires?

On Oct. 29, 2026, the Amazon listing’s bullets said 13 inches and its item type said 11 inches. We do not know why. If size matters, ask the seller: “Which tire diameter ships with the BRSC-WB from this listing?”

How we checked: On Oct. 29, 2026, we checked the two Amazon US listings (ASINs B00CJJA0LY and B07ZL4QB8L) for model, wheels, holders and dimensions, and the Fish-N-Mate 303 Jr listing (ASIN B00FPQZR1G) for availability. For manufacturer details we read cached copies of Fish-N-Mate’s 310 page, Fish-N-Mate’s 143 page and the 303 Jr page, plus Calcutta Outdoors’ older balloon-wheel cart page, whose current product URL returned an error, and its surf fishing gear guide. Prices, ratings and review counts did not affect the selection and are not shown. The drawings on this page are original illustrations, not photos or measurements.
