How we choose gear and earn money
The short version: useful advice comes first. Some product links can earn us a commission, but they do not change the price you pay.

We label Amazon links as “Affiliate link” close to the button. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep the site running. US links open Amazon.com, and Australian links open Amazon.com.au.
What a product mention means
We tell you whether a product was hands-on tested, researched, or simply verified as a current retail listing. Product links in our guides are researched listings unless we clearly say otherwise. We have not hands-on tested those exact listings.
How we check Amazon links
- We check that each link opens the intended product in the right country.
- We do not copy changing prices, star ratings, or review counts onto our pages.
- We tell you to confirm the exact size and specifications on the store page.
What commissions do not buy
A commission does not buy a better verdict. We do not call an item “best” just because it has an affiliate link. We do not claim to test gear we have not used.
